there is many similarities between computer science and Information technology, thats why students get confused. Information technology mostly deals with software programming and there is less of hardware engineering. where in cse there is computer programming, basics of electronics, hardware programming and engineering. so cse syllabus is comparatively tough to IT. now you have to decide which of the course you want to go for. for students who want to go for phd or in research work cse would be best.
