what is the difference b/w electrical engineering & electrical and Electronics engineering
Hey Govind,
Electrical engineering consists only the subjects of electrical curriculum. Syllabus is less in comparison to electrical and electronics engineering but it also reduces the job opportunity. While in the electrical and electronics engineering subjects and syllabus of both the pattern are fairly covered. Job opportunity increases as private sector also involves as a major recruiter with involvement of electronics.
So the student of electrical and electronics have more job opportunities than that of electrical engineering in government, public as well as private sectors.
Electronics and communication engineering consists the subjects of electronics engineering with some more subjects related to communication field,And the same goes for the electronics and telecommunication engineering and electronics and instrumentation engineering.
Electronics Engineering is an Engineering discipline where non-linear and active electrical and electronics components and devices such as electron tubes, and semiconductor devices, especially transistors, diodes and integrated circuits, etc. are utilized to design electronic circuits, devices and systems.
In ECE, Students study electronics with some part of communication. The subject uses the scientific knowledge of the behaviour and effects of electrons to develop devices, systems, or equipment that uses electricity as part of its driving force. Also it contains basics on electrical machines and more on integrated circuits and communication systems.
In terms of placements, EEE the competition is not very tough and the availability of jobs too are good. Electrical graduates are employed in Electricity Boards/Utility companies responsible for installation, maintenance, operation of power handling equipment and systems. Industries manufacturing large electrical machines and equipment employ engineers in design, production and testing.
In ECE, the scope to land into government jobs is great. An electronics engineer can find a job in Central Government, State Governments and their sponsored corporations, private industries dealing in manufacture, sales and services of electronics consumer goods and appliances. Additionally, electronics engineers are also absorbed into the broadcast industry, research establishments, and defence.
I have explained you scope for both and accordingly you can decide which is good for you.
Good Luck.
