What is the difference DUET and DU DSJ exams? Are they same when it comes to mass communication?

The Delhi University (DU) comprises several colleges that offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Journalism, Media, and Mass Communication. These are offered through four courses: B.A. (Hons) in Journalism, MA Journalism, B.A. (Hons) Multimedia and Mass Communication, and a Five-Year Integrated Programme in Journalism.


The Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) is held by Delhi University for a variety of courses where admission is not solely dependent on class XII results. Every year, the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) is conducted by the National Testing Agency for admissions to various UG and PG courses.


Delhi School of Journalism, University of Delhi conducts admission to its courses of Five Year Integrated Programme in Journalism and MA Journalism through DUET entrance exam. DSJ doesn’t provide courses in Multi-Media and Mass Communication.


Following are the details of the above mentioned courses:


Five Year Integrated Program in Journalism

Delhi University's Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ) offers a five-year Integrated Program of Journalism in English and Hindi. The program's aim is to encourage and nurture aspiring journalists. After three years, students can choose to leave the programme and receive a Bachelor of Journalism degree. Students who complete the two-year postgraduate programme will receive a Master of Journalism degree. For English and Hindi medium students, courses are taught separately.

Eligibility: To b eligible for DUET entrance exam, candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 50% or higher.

Intake:

English Language Journalism: 60

Hindi Language Journalism: 60

Selection Procedure: The merit list created for the DUET Entrance Test will be used to select/admit students to this course. For the English and Hindi journalism programmes, separate merit lists will be prepared.

Entrance Test: General Awareness, Media Awareness, Current Affairs, English comprehension, Grammatical and Analytical skills, Logical Reasoning, and Basic Mathematics skills will all be covered on the exam. It will be conducted in both English and Hindi.


B.A. (Hons) Multi-Media and Mass Communication

A three-year bachelor's programme in Multi-Media and Mass Communication is offered by Delhi University's Indraprastha College (Women). This is a self-financed course that has been approved by DU. Scholars and practitioners from a variety of disciplines, including advertising, marketing studies, foreign affairs, and electronic media, make up the department's faculty.

For seminars and to teach a range of information, guest lecturers and professors from relevant departments of the college and other media colleges, as well as experts and professionals from the media industry, are brought in.

Eligibility: Candidates (female only) must have a minimum aggregate of 75 percent in the best four (including 85 percent or more in English) in the qualifying examination to be qualified for the DUET Entrance Test for BMMMC.

Note: Mass Media Studies may be one of the top four academic subjects.

Selection Procedure: The merit list created for the DUET Entrance Test will be used to select/admit students to this course.

Entrance Test: The exam will consist of 100 questions and will cover topics such as general awareness, media awareness, current events, English comprehension, and grammatical and analytical skills.


B.A. (Hons) Journalism

The University of Delhi's Bachelor of Arts in Journalism Honours programme provides students with a working knowledge of all aspects of journalism, including print, television, and radio, as well as interdisciplinary courses such as advertising and public relations, documentary photography, and digital media techniques.

As part of its comprehensive course structure, students get to experience the interface between academia and the media industry through feedback from eminent personalities and journalists in conferences or workshops.

Selection Procedure: Admission to these colleges is based on merit, as determined by DU's cut-offs. The number of seats allocated to reserved categories is determined by university laws. The best four subjects are added together, and a 1% bonus for female students is applied to this course as well.

Entrance Test: No entrance test rather merit based admission as per percentage.


MA Journalism

A Masters in Journalism is offered by Delhi University's Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ). The program's goal is to educate young journalists by challenging them with coursework and real-world experiences in the field of journalism. Throughout the curriculum, students are taught how to develop strategic communication skills, industrial competence, and improved writing and editing skills.

Eligibility: To take the DUET entrance exam, candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 50% or higher in any bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

Selection Procedure: The merit list created for the DUET Entrance Test will be used to select/admit students to this course.

Entrance Test: General Awareness, Contemporary Cultural, Social, and Political Issues, Research Aptitude Media, Awareness, Current Affairs, English Comprehension, Grammatical and Analytical Skills, Logical Reasoning, and Basic Mathematics Skills will all be covered on the exam.

DUET is national-level entrance exam which is  conducted in online mode i.e. computer-based test BY DELHI university . DUET is conducted for all programmes such as UG, PG, MPhil and PhD. ug courses offeredby DUET exam is BA in multimedia, B EL ED, BA in  Humanities and Social Sciences, BSc Physical Education, Health Education & Sports Sciences,b.tech In IT .

DU DSJ stands for Delhi university, Delhi school of journalism. du dsj Offers five years integrated course in journalism. The admission to DSJ is on the basis of entrance test with eligibility of minimum 50% in class XII (irrespective of the stream).  TO Admission in five year integrated program in DUDSJ you have to appear in duet .
