There isn't any difference in the scores as both places you'll have the same amount of courses for the particular subject and same amount of hardwork you need to put in. What actually makes a difference between IITs and other Universities is the quality of study. The faculty provided at IITs might be better than any other university being the top notch universities. Plus the placements since the students at IITs are likely to get more opportunities than students in other universities.
