Dear azimuddin,

Hope you are doing well. B.tech or back in Aeronuatical engineering will have some vast differences. This is the same question as whether to do bsc or btech. So answer of this question would be general irrespective of the branch.

Let me give you some point to consider before you choose B.tech or B.sc because both have their advantages.

Fees of Btech is higher than Bsc. But there are some Bsc courses which have practicals, therefore, it comes nearly equal to that of Btech ignoring hostel fees.

Bsc is 3 years course and Btech is 4 years. People think of getting a job after btech bcos 4 years studying is hell (AGREED) and only 1 out of 10 grad would apply for Mtech. But Bsc grads, maximum of them ( not all) would go for BEd or MSC which together equals 5 years. Anyone can understand.

Considering financial problems, Bsc is a good option.

It's my personal opinion that Btech degree feels like a complete one and one can directly apply for job. I have seen many of my friends who are doing Bsc and there no one teaches them because of student politics in bsc institutions.

Now a days there are more numbers of Bsc holders than Btech ones bcos of shift in trend. But don't go by these numbers.

Think calmly, whether you want to finish college in 3 years or can study for 4 years. Both sides demand hard work.

Take a look at coaching centres where a batch strength is > 200. So it doesn't matter which course you choose, it is your efforts which ultimately decides your fate.

Placements are a big advantage for BTech ones. But only a handful of good institutions can provide.

BTech ones are also eligible for all banking, clerk exams same as for BSC candidates. Only difference is they can also apply for technical exams and jobs.

Nowadays, many changes and new rules have come up for engineering courses. Please do a thorough research of the institution you want to get in. Don't fall in the trap of mediocre universities and colleges. They always increase their fees.

Also do check if the college is AICTE approved or not. For University, check if it is UGC approved or not. You can verify on UGC's and aicte's official site.

And whatever course you opt for, make the best of it. Don't depend on any teacher to help you out, rather solve it on your own.

Hope I answered your query in detail. If you have any further queries you can comment over here. Please upvote if you liked my answer. All the best for your future.
