Below I am pointing the difference between Group A and Group B of civil services.
Exams through which Group A jobs are given:-
The exam through which Group A jobs are given is mainly CGL that is conducted staff selection commission(SSC) .
List of services in Group A:- IAS, IFS ,IPS, IRS, IRMS, IRPS, ITS, IRS-IT / C&C, IRSEE, IRSME, IRTS, ITBPHS IRRS, IOFS , IMS, IIS, IEDS, IDES, IDES etc,
List of services in Group B:- Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Services, Central Electrical Engineering Service, Central Excise Service, Defense Secretariat Service, Indian Posts and Telegraphs Accounts and Finance Service, Telecommunication Wing, Income Tax Service, Railway Board Secretariat Service (SO and ASO only), Postal Superintendents’ Service etc.
The appointment of Group A services are done by the president of India whereas the same is done by the higher administration of India.

Different authorities and exams are taken for group A and B. civil service examination is made through the Civil Services Examination
Engineering Services Examination
Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination
E.S./I.S.S. Examination
Combined Medical Services Examination
Central Armed Police Forces of Union Public Service Commission. The officers selected through this exam and appointed by President of India.
Recruitment and appointment of group B: T
The recruitment of officers is made through conducting the graduate level examination. SSC conducts the exam. Officers are appointed by the authorities specified by president. Salary for officers in group A is higher than group B.
