CAT also known as Common Admiossion Test is all India national level computer based test conducted by IIMs for admission to management programmes.
The level of maths in cat is from moderate to difficult. The topics that covers this section is upto 10th class. The main topics which are covered under this section are Arithmrtic, Algebra, Number system, Geometry, Mensuration etc. In arithmetic you will see topics like Ration and proportion,Profit and loss, percentage etc. These are the topics we have learned in our school days. These topics are familiar. You just have to keep in mind certain things when you will prepare for this section which are:-
* Brush up your Basic
*Start with the topic you are weak in.
*Practice everyday
*Solve ques from books or the study material
*Give mocks and sectional test
*Know all the tricks about the topic
*Solve previous years question papers
* Must do mock analysis
* track your time while solving the question.
Cat ask difficult to moderate question so go through the question before you start solving from the 1st question. A lways solve easy and moderate question First. This way you can perform well in the Quantitive section.

CAT syllabus is devided into 3 parts - Quant, verbal ability, DILR.
The mathematics section is based on elementary level(class 8,9,10 level)
Basically the maths portion are based on arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry etc of 9,10 level.
