What is the elegibility or any qualifications required for giving upsc exam?
In order to appear for UPSC, candidates need to attain 21 years and pass graduation in any discipline from a recognized University, one can apply even in the final year, there is no specific aggregate required in this case. The maximum age limit for General Category/EWS is 32 years, OBC is 35 years, SC/ST is 37 years and in case of physically disabled candidates, 10 year relaxation is provided till 42 years.
UPSC Civil Service Exam consists of three stages-
Preliminary
Mains
Interview
To give you a brief about the exam;
Preliminary consists of 200 Marks for each paper in MCQs format.
First one is GS Paper-I with topics such as History of India and Indian national movement, Indian and World geography, Economic and social development- sustainable development, poverty,inclusion demographics, social sector initiatives etc,Indian polity and governance-constitution,political system,Current Events nationally and Internationally, General Science,General Issues on environmental ecology,biodiversity and climate change. you just need to score the required cut offs against your category.
Second paper is CSAT (qualifying by nature) where you need to score 33% only that is 66 Marks out of 200, it includes topics such as basic numeracy, comprehension, logical reasoning and analytical ability, general mental ability, decision making and problem solving, interpersonal skills including communication skills.
Next stage is Mains which is more of a subjective type, one needs to write answer for Four General Studies Paper such as
GS-I includes Indian Heritage and Culture,History and Geography of the World and Society,
GS-II includes Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations,
GS-III includes Technology, Economic Development, Bio-Diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management,
GS-IV includes Ethics, Integrity, and Aptitude
Apart from four GS Papers, there are two optionals, one essay, two language paper, so there are total nine papers here, 250 marks for each paper, total is 1750 marks followed by Personality Test of 275 marks.

the eligibility criteria is candidate must have completed 21 years as on 1st august 2020 (for UPSC CSE 2020) and not completed 32 years as on 1st august 2020 and candidate must hold a bachelors degree from any recognized university and candidate who are in their final year and awaiting for results are also eligible to appear for same , candidate must be citizen of india
