What is the eligibility criteria for PhD in Physical Sciences from JNU ? I have read from the prospectus and some websites but they show a different answers. Prospectus says that Maths is not required at B.Sc level but some websites show that Maths is compulsory at B.Sc level. what is correct ?

Hey there,

Hope you’re having a great day.

I would like to inform you that for clarification, the eligibility is that aspirant must have Master's degree in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics with atleast 55% marks. Candidates having majored in Physics or Chemistry should have had Mathematics atleast up to the Bachelor's level. Candidates majoring in Chemistry should have specialized in Physical Chemistry/Chemical Physics at the M.Sc. level. Exceptions can be made in case of applicants with a B.Tech. (Electronics/Electrical) degree provided they successfully compete in our entrance examination.  You can use the link given below for reference-:
