What is the eligibility criteria of SRMJEEE 2018

The eligibility criteria of SRMJEEE includes the academic qualifications which the candidate needs to have to eligible to appear for the test or apply for admission directly. The other parameters which form part of the eligibility criteria are the nationality, date of birth, subjects which are mandatory in the 10+2 or equivalent board. It also mentions the aggregate marks which they need to score in the 10+2.

Nationality of the candidate- In order to be eligible to apply for admission in SRMJEEE, you must be a Indian citizen, person of Indian origin, overseas citizen of India.

Age of the Candidate- The candidate must be born between July 1, 1997 and July 1, 2002 to be eligible to appear for the entrance test or if they are applying through direct admission.


Subjects in 10+2- It is mandatory for you to have studied Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics / Biology / Botany & Zoology/ Biotechnology as major subjects in their 10+2 or equivalent.

Name of the Boards- You must have done your 10+2 (or equivalent) examination from any of the recognised boards such as State boards, ISC,CBSE, or NIOS. Those who will be appearing for the class XII board exam in 2018, they will also be able to apply for the entrance exam.


If you have passed International Baccalaureate (IB) with Diploma or A-level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Botany & Zoology/ Biotechnology as major subjects in any International schools within India, then also you can apply for SRMJEEE 2018

Those of you who have not studied Maths in 10+2, they will be able to apply only for biotechnology and genetic engineering programmes.

You must remember that you will be considered for admission only if you passed the qualifying exam in not more than two attempts.

Direct Admission- Apart from the entrance test, the other mode through which one is eligible to apply to SRM is that they have to be among the top rankers of Central or state board.

Those who have scored a rank of within 1,000 for IIT JEE, they can also apply for admission.

If you are among the top rank holder in each district of Tamil Nadu or have excelled in the field of sports at the international or national level, then one will be eligible to apply for admission.

Dear Chetal, For admission to SRM University admission go through the eligibility conditions below: Aspiring candidates must be born between July 1, 1997 and July 1, 2002. Indian nationality, Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas City of India (OCI) card holders are eligible to apply for SRMJEEE 2018. Candidates who have passed class 12th/equivalent exam or are appearing in class 12th/qualifying examination in 2018 from a recognised central/state board are eligible for appearing in SRMJEEE 2018 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. Candidates studied International Baccalaureate (IB) with Diploma or A-level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Botany & Zoology/ Biotechnology as major subjects in any International school within India are also eligible. Candidates without studying Mathematics as one of the major subjects in 12th or qualifying equivalent exam are only eligible for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering programmes. Candidates should have passed class 12th/equivalent exam within 2 attempts. Different campuses of SRM University have different eligibility criteria from 50% aggregate marks to 75% aggregate marks in class 12th/equivalent exam for B.tech admissions.
