hi tulika,To fulfill the NEET eligibility criteria 2018, candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English. The candidates belonging to General Category should score a minimum of 50% marks in Class 12 or HSC examination.

Candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes (OBC) should score a minimum of 40% in their Class 12 or HSC examination.

For persons with locomotor disability of lower limbs, a minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required

In case of a reserved category candidate, following are the eligibility criteria which one must fulfill in order to appear for NEET entrance exam:

  • The candidate should have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31 of the year of his/her admission to the first year MBBS/BDS course.
  • There will be no upper age limit for NEET 2018 as per the SC order passed on March 31, 2017.
  • The number of attempts which a candidate can avail in the NEET examination shall be limited to 3 uniformly to all the candidates. Appearance in NEET-2017 was counted as first attempt for candidates who appeared in the same.
  • The candidate should have cleared their Class 12 (or equivalent exam) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and Mathematics as main subjects with a minimum aggregate score of 40 percent in these.
  • For persons with locomo- tor disability of lower limbs, a minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST- PH/OBC-PH are required.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the Class 12 qualifying exam and have results awaiting can also sit for the exam.

In case a reserved category candidate does not fulfil any of the above said requirements, he/she will not be eligible to appear for the entrance exam under any circumstances.

MBBS and BDS aspirants can check the NEET 2018 eligibility criteria as specified by the CBSE. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Under Graduation (NEET UG) will be conducted tentatively in the first week of May 2018 in offline mode. The eligibility criteria of NEET 2018 specifies the academic qualifications, age limit, residency status, number of attempts and other requirements that must be met by all candidates appearing for the entrance exam. Candidates may note that the NEET Eligibility Criteria 2018 to appear for the exam will be separate from the eligibility for admissions.NEETis the single entrance examination in the country for admissions to MBBS and BDS programmes conducted in 10 languages.
