What is the fee of diploma in mechanical engineering includes with hostel
1.If you study sincerely in diploma, your basic knowledge about mechanical engineering will be relatively good.
2.Having learnt the basics of mechanical engineering you will develop a sound aptitude for it.
3.You will have good hands on experience of machines in general. (lathe, drilling, milling, CNC, etc )
4.You will have many friends who are mechanical engineers in different colleges and companies. So your network of professional friends will be bigger. This can be a very big asset.
5.You will get used to the never ending cycle of writing assignments-studying-facing viva-studying-writing exam-repeat.
6.You will not feel bad when your professor tears your sheets and asks you to draw them again because you will grow a very thick skin and nerves of steel during the 3 years of diploma.
7.Writing any number of pages of assignments within one night will be a walk in the park for you.
8.You will have a very special talent which other non-diploma students generally don’t have i.e. Glass Tranfer/Glass Tracing a.k.a. GT!!
9.The first 3 semesters of BTech will be a piece of cake.
10.When you take admission in BTech, many professors treat diploma students better than other non-diploma students.
11.You will have advantage during the final year project of BTech because many professors prefer diploma students in their group.
12.You would study most of the subjects twice in 6 years so your basic concepts (supposedly) will be very clear (though this is not guaranteed).
ANS 2:
No. IIT’s and even NIT’s don’t have lateral admission through diploma. They admit students only through JEE after 10+2. If your aim for BTech is IIT (or NIT) then you should not do diploma. Although you can join good state colleges like C.O.E.P., V.J.T.I., et al. after diploma. You can try for IIT’s after BTech through GATE for MTech.
Respected sir,
The Students are exposed to Mechanical drafting, Designing, Modification of existing design, Estimating & Costing, Operating of various machines and their maintenance. They also get adequate exposure to latest technology such as Mechatronics, CAD /CAM & Robotics and CNC.
The Diploma Holders can be absorbed as Apprentice Trainees in reputed Public Sector / Private Sector companies. After completion of the training, they will be placed as maintenance / production engineers. They can acquire additional qualification and thus reach higher levels in the company. They are also trained to start their own business.
Hello Vipul,
It varies from college to college. Be specific so that we can help you. Generally it is higher for private colleges than Government colleges.
In Government engineering colleges, the fees are considerably lesser. This is because the government decides the fee charged (and with the reservation quotas in place, different sects of group - female, economically backward and lower castes have big fee waivers).
Thank You!!
In my college PDPU, Gujarat which one of most expensive universities of Gujarat, the fees for 2018 is about 1,20,000 and the hostel fees is 64000 for Non A. C.
You can get the amount in more detail manner if you check the official website of a particular college.
As you are asking for fees for diploma in mechanical engineering, I would like to tell you that it varies from college to college from categories to categories.
For govt. Colleges it is much low as compared to private colleges.
Added to it nowadays government also provide scholarships for the students which are very helpful.
Hope it helps. Any queries are welcomed in the comments below.
