I think that colleges are going leaps and bounds to provide the perfect educational space for students in India. They have curriculums inspired by global institutes, good faculty and active placement cells. Some college even have international collaboration. Thapar Insitute for eg. has collaboration with Trinity college in Dublin. You study two years at TI and the next two years at Dublin. Even your degree is given by Trinity. Isn't that amazing!!

Yeah! You have to be worried about this question if you are not interested in Engineering.

Engineering has always been the top career option for science students in India. Today this field has evolved to great extent and there have been additions and introduction of new streams in the decade. Civil & Mechanical being the vast and oldest branches.

Coming to your question i.e SCOPE . There is lot of scope in engineering no doubt about it, provided you are ready to give your 100% , work smart instead of work hard, and be innovative. Now choosing your stream will be a concern and choose this wisely depending on the area or the locality you live in, study the engineering colleges near you, the placement % the demand for branches etc. Good luck and Have a good day! May luck come your way..!

Hii.

As an engineering student i would like to answer this question that since 2000 engineering colleges in india are tremendously increase and the lebel of education is going to be decrease..there are Much more input then outputs needed..Whrn we compare indian engineering colleges to US..Then US has only 1-2 lakh engineer came out every year..while in india the figure is around 1.5 million..So the unemployment in engineering sector is more then anyone else..

But There are some of the good enginnering colleges in india which are going to touch new heights every year. When we talk about IISC banglore and IITs and NITs..There are lots of talent In that colleges who are competimg with the world..Our JEE mains paper is one of the toughest papers in the world. When we are talking about this Brands the colledges future is Extremely Good and this colleges are well reputed in foreign also..Because of unemployement and not proper wages this talents were gone to another contry and settled there for life...

In the last i ll just say that the future of colleges we cannot predict..But the way of economy developement will decide the futute of Our colleges and its talents..

Thank you

Hi Hanisha,

You don't need to worry. They won't be going anywhere. Yes, I agree that the quality of colleges have degraded over past few years but we can't overlook the fact that the job requirements for engineer have also increased with technology. The change that we might expect and even experiencing that avegage engineer's salary will decrease and more engineer have to shift to other courses, but this won't effect the college as the number of students willing to pursue B.Tech will be sufficient to fill up the colleges. The very low grade colleges may have to shut down or change due to lack of placement in their college. One more change we can expect in the future is coming up of new streams and streams like bioinformatic and food technology getting more in demand with our changing lifestyle.

There could be more changes but one thing will always constant, Engineer's will always be there.

Hope you found it useful.

All the beat.

Thank you for your question.

The number of engineering colleges have increased so much that there is now a saturation of graduates every year.

Hence, the best graduates have a good chance of surviving.

Otherwise the low key colleges are getting shut every year due to shortage of professors.

Good luck
