what is the important things need to study from cunningham mbbs 1st year
Hello there, here I am listing down a overview which you may find beneficial.First MBBS is the only year you get to dissect a human body, and it is mandatory for all students. Don't be daunted by the thought of it, it is indeed one of the most teaching experiences you'd ever get. It seems strange, for about a day till you start enjoying it, mostly get used to it.
MBBS has four parts, instead of calling them years, we call them first MBBS, second MBBS and so on.
First MBBS has three nonclinical subjects
Anatomy
Physiology
Biochemistry
Theory and practical of each subject has separate passing and dissection is included which comes under anatomy. First part is all about understanding the structure and normal working of human body.
Second MBBS has four paraclinical subjects
Pathology
Pharmacology
Microbiology
Forensic medicine and toxicology
We start dealing with what goes wrong with normal body and related subjects.
Also, clinical postings for Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics and Pediatrics also begin. So the time devoted to dissection in first MBBS now goes to postings. These are final year subjects. Here one has to go to wards and OPDs to learn the art of history taking, examination and differential diagnosis on patients. These postings continue till final year till one appears for them.
Third MBBS or minors have 3 clinical subjects
Preventive and Social Medicine
Ear Nose Throat
Ophthalmology
Fourth/Final MBBS or majors have 4 clinical subjects
Medicine
Surgery
Gynecology and Obstetrics
Pediatrics
All subjects have their respective sub-topics like Orthopedics, Psychiatry, so on.
After final year, one had to intern in a hospital for a year.
Hope you find it helpful
Thanks
Good luck
