There are normally 4 iterations -

You give your preferences and a small fee and a branch is alotted to you according to your marks and cut-offs for first iteration

the students who really want to be part of the bits family only remain in the competition for the seats in different branches as all who are alotted any branch or are in the waiting list have to pay a significant amount of money to take part in the second iteration.

Mostly it happens that second iteration marks the end of the councelling process for students as there is only few waitlisted students who are alotted any seats and only few of those who get their higher preferences in the third iteration

As many people don't report on the campus , cut-offs decrease by 2–3 Marks here . It happens after you are on the campus and before Fourth Iteration , you have a chance to lock your campus but not your branch . It means that you can choose to remain at the campus alotted after third iteration

These are basically 'rounds' in the counselling process. Like we have the consecutive rounds in CSAB's counselling for JEE Mains.

Hi Rishav! These iterations are for numbering the steps, completing which the final application window opens up. Fill all the details correctly. Good Luck!
