The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the most prestigious institutes in India that offer engineering and technological education of internationally recognized standard of excellence.
The IIT-JEE is a national level engineering exam with two parts to it- the JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. The JEE Mains has two papers respectively. JEE Main is an entry-level exam with a lower level of difficulty. The Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other prestigious institutions. It is also an eligibility test for JEE advanced, which is conducted for admissions to IITs. The Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch. and B. Planning courses.
The questions featuring in the examination are objective types, single correct, multi-choice questions and involve +4 marks for every right answer and -1 marks for a wrong one. The paper is designed to test the candidate’s aptitude, speed and accuracy, time management, comprehension and their analytical ability.
The eligibility criteria primarily for the JEE Mains is to secure 75% or above in the 12 th board examination from a recognized board.
Being an all India examination, the paper is offered with a variety of major languages such as English, Hindi and Gujarati. However from January 2021, it will be offered in thirteen languages, namely Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Diya, Punjabi, Tamil, Urdu, and Telugu.

According to New Education Policy the JEE-Main examination will be conducted in English, Hindi and other regional languages such as Bengali, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Odia and Malayalam.
So whichever language is comfortable to you, you can opt for it and the medium of question paper of JEE-Main will be the same.
Also some other changes have introduced for JEE-Main 2021 which goes like :-
** To qualify for JEE Mains, there is no minimum aggregate percentage criteria and also if you want to take admission into NITs, IIITs or CFTIs then you should pass in your class 12th. Because as per the latest announcement made by our Hon'ble Education minister Mr.Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, the 75% criteria has been removed for upcoming year 2021-22.
** From now JEE-Main will be conducted four times in a year. So in total the candidate will be having 12 attempts for JEE-Main.
