What is the latest marking scheme for UGC NET?

To make a proper strategy for preparation, it’s better to analyze the paper pattern of the exam firstly. By analyzing that you will get an idea about the marking weightage of the topics and the question types which will asked in the examination.
The upcoming UGC NET exam will be conducted by the NTA in December 2019.
UGC NET exam has two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2.
- Paper 1 is common for all subjects which consists 50 MCQs type questions of Reasoning Ability, Comprehension Reading, Mental Ability, and General Awareness etc. Each question is of 2 marks.
- Paper 2 consists subject based 100 MCQs type questions, each of 2 marks.
- There is no minus marking on any negative answer in both papers.
To qualify
the UGC NET exam, you have to score minimum marks in UGC NET which are as
follow -
- General Category Candidates – 40% marks in Paper – I and Paper – II together.
- Reserved Category Candidates – 35 % marks in Paper – I and Paper – II together.

According to the latest marking scheme for UGC NET an equal marking system has been set for all questions which clearly shows that there will be 2-2 marks for the right questions of the first and the second paper.
And along with this according to the revised exam pattern of UGC NET Examination, there will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
Hence attempting all questions has been compulsory.
There will be two paper of UGC net. In the first paper, there will be questions of General Aptitude having questions of general nature which emphasis assessing the ability of the candidate to research.

UGC NET Marking Scheme
- A uniform marking system is followed in the exam i.e. for Paper 1 and 2, each correct answer carries + 2 marks.
- As per the revised exam pattern of UGC NET Exam, there is no negative marking for any unanswered or incorrect answer.
- Hence, instead of skipping a question, one can use their calculated guess and mark the answer.
