What is the latest news about IIT Eligibility from state board? I can't understand that "state's first 20 percentile are eligible to the advanced exam". Could anybody explain me with charity.

Along with qualifying Jee Main, there is another criteria for being eligible for Jee Advanced and that is the candidates must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in Class 12. 5% relaxation in marks for Sc, St and pwd candidates.Or the candidates should be within top 20 percentile of their respective Class 12 boards. And top 20 percentile means that you are ahead of 80% of the people of your respective board. The subjects considered to calculate these marks are - PCM, a language with highest score, another subject other than these four where you have got highest marks. But this year it's different. As all the subjects of class 12 of several boards have not conducted and marks have been provided on the basis of internal assessment and previous exam marks, many students have affected by these. So this year, the criteria of at least 75% or top 20 percentile has been scrapped and among all 2,50,000 candidates who have passed 12th examination will be eligible to sit for Jee Advanced 2020.
