What is the main advantage of additional subjects in CBSE 10th? If I get low marks in boards in one of the subjects, but I've passed, will the additional subject marks be added to it?

Yes, the advantage of having an additional subject for the CBSE board is precisely this. In order to pass the Class 10 CBSE board exams, a student must obtain a minimum of 33% passing marks in each of the 5 subjects. However, if a student has more than 5 subjects and fails in the 6th subject, they have the option to take the CBSE 10th supplementary exam specifically for that subject. Regardless of whether they choose to appear for the supplementary exam or not, they will still be declared as pass.

Yes this exactly is the benefit of the additional subject for the cbse board. The one subject in which you get higher marks is considered. There's a rule of best of five for CBSE in which your main overall subject is decided by your best 5 subjects.

Thank you.
