Hi Alfiya!!

It depends on you what's your idea of being qualifying in this examination, your extent of preparation, motivation, target and aptitude. So, following are the slabs in which a aspirant falls,

  1. If you want to write this exam just for the sake of it :- Like, if you just filled the jee form mechanically and didn't prepare consciously because you know you don't want to get in any renowned institution for engineering. Any college will do good for you then any marks scored will be good.
  2. If you want officially clear the cutoff marks:- If you are someone who want passing marks to clear the cutoff and to be eligible for jee advance than a score of 110+ will be good. However this score will lead you nowhere if you fail to make it to the IITs through JEE advance.
  3. If you want to get into any NIT or other gfti:- Some of the premier institution accept students through their jee mains score like DTU, nsit, iiest etc then you have to score slightly more than the cutoff. With that score you can also get into some NIT also. Some govt organisation also accept the jee mains score like DRDO. So for that the average score over the years is between 140–160.
  4. If you want your favorite/best NIT with your choice of branch:- So if you want to study your choice of subject in the premier institution then you have to outperform the fellow aspirants who are equally competitive( those who are targeting for such choices). Your marks should be above 260.
  5. If you only want to top the exam :- Only way to be sure about this is by scoring 100% I.e. 360 marks. Because you never know when a guy like veerval come and score full marks.

Best of luck for your exam…hope you prepare well and score good.

Hello,

The eligibility to register and appear for JEE Advanced is by having score greater than cut-off mentioned in JEE Mains papers 1 or 2. This cut-off varies every year. The cut-off depends on category to which you belong, the difficulty level of the examination, the total number of candidates who appeared in examination etc. The examination conducting authority release the cut-off prior to start of registration of JEE Advanced. From this year NTA is the JEE conducting authority and they release category-wise cut-off.
