dear aspirant,
Model of three cells is an approximate representation of the general circulation of the atmosphere. Air rises above the Equator and subsides over the subtropics; these are Hadley cells. Air subsides over polar areas and extends to lower latitudes; these are polar cells. Hadley and polar cells activate the third group of Ferrel cells in the center of the latitudes.
Hadley 's cell air is supposed to move north to south, but Coriolis is deflected to the right. And the breeze is flowing from the northeast to the southwest. This belt is the trade winds, so named because they were perfect for trading at the time of sailing ships.
The air in the Ferrel cell is supposed to move south to north, but the winds are basically coming from the southwest. This belt is the west winds or the west winds. How do you think that a flight from San Francisco to New York City in the United States takes less time than a return trip?
At last, in the Polar cell, the winds travel from the northeast and are called the polar easterlies. The wind belts are titled after the directions from which the winds come. Westerly winds, for example, are blowing from west to east. Such titles also keep the winds in the Southern Hemisphere 's storm belts.
i hope this will help.
