Hi,
SSC has a typical salary structure that is why most of us find it difficult to understand. SSC conducts the SSC CGL exam and some other exams to recruit on various government posts. It has different salary structures for different posts. As per salary chart by SSC, Grade Pay is something which ensure that employee will surely get this amount in his gross salary.
For example, in Gross Salary of SSC employees there are HRA, DA, TA and Basic Salary Components included so if it is a Grade Pay 4600 then, in Gross Salary this Grade Pay of 4600 Rupees will also be added means it will not be Deducted. That means final salary of SSC Employee will be Equal to the Addition of HRA+DA+TA+Basic Salary+Grade Pay.
Hope that helps!
Grade pay stands for the amount you will be paid at every different designation. Lets say fir example, SSC CGL has few grades. And each Grade has a different level of Post. Each Grade has a different pay scale. Grade B has the top salary bracket while others have relatively lower pay package. So pay according to the grade of the employee or posy is called grade pay.
