Hello,
Hope you are doing great.
Answering to your question, NITs admit students to their B.Tech programs based on their JEE Mains scores, and the admissions process includes two categories with separate closing ranks: home-state and other-state quotas. The home-state quota allocates 50% of the seats for all B.Tech courses to candidates who have completed their 12th grade in the state where the NIT is located. For example, to qualify under the home-state quota at MNIT Jaipur, completion of the 12th grade in Rajasthan is required. The remaining 50% of seats are reserved for applicants from other states and fall under the other state category. It's important to note that a student eligible for the home-state quota can apply to the other state's quota category, but the reverse is not permitted.
Hope this helps!!
