Dear Aspirant,

Presenting a paper at renowned recognized conferences, internships, work experience, remarkable extra curriculum activities all are bonuses to your application. You will have to be extremely careful in structuring your SOP (Statement of Purpose) that clearly indicates your interest in pursuing a particular university program.
In Canada there is no specific percentage or GPA needed to pursue MS degree course since most of the universities offers admission on the basis of entrance examination. Each University keeps updating their selection criteria every year. However, here is a general reference you can follow :
Students who have completed their master’s degree after pursuing their three-year bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for admission to master’s at a Canadian university.
1) In terms of academic requirements, it is advised to have a minimum GPA of 3 on a scale of 4. This corresponds to 65 – 70% or CGPA 7.0 – 7.5 in Indian standards. For example: The University of Toronto offering the course expects a minimum of 3 GPA on a scale of 4.
2)GRE/GMAT is also required for Several universities. The general GRE score is taken into consideration and specific subject test act as an added advantage.
3)A proof of English Language Proficiency by submitting IELTS (minimum 6.5 or 7.0) or TOEFL (90+) score is also required.
To stay further in Canada, you will need to check your immigration document which is a study permit or a stamp in your passport. If your term expires you may apply for an extension if you wish to stay. The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program offers you a work permit up to 3 years depending on the course duration.
Hope this helps. All the best!
