M.Sc. Chemistry is 2-year career-oriented postgraduate course which comprises a broad variety of modules in chemistry from among which students can choose to specialize in any. The course consists of advanced lessons in Analytical Chemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry, Solid State Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Polymer Sciences, and such.



Chemistry is the science of matter and the changes effected by it. The science of matter is also a part of the discipline of Physics, but while Physics is more practical and applies a fundamental approach, Chemistry is more specialized and is concerned with the composition, behavior, structure, and properties of matter. It is also about the changes matter undergoes during chemical reactions.



The average M.Sc. Chemistry course fees in India ranges between INR 5,000 and 40,000 for the total duration. The average annual salary offered in India to successful postgraduates of the field lies between INR 5 and 7 lacs.

The minimum criteria required to do masters in chemistry in IITs is-

1.You should have an aggregate of atleast 55% in your bachelor's degree.

2.You should have a bachelor's degree in chemistry with a course duration of 3 years or 6 semesters.

3.You should have maths as a subject in your 10+2 boards.

Dear aspirants

To do Msc and phd programs from IITs you have to appear and clear the IIT JAM exam which is conducted for admission for post graduate courses
