It is a known fact that IPS is one of the prestigious posts in the country and the IPS exam is under UPSC Civil Service Exam . This exam is conducted every year in India. IPS Exam is one of the toughest exams in India.
IPS Physical Requirements:
1. For Male:
Height - 165cm (General Category)
& 160cm (ST Category)
Chest - Minimum 85cm
Eye Sight - 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision
2. For Females:
Height - 150cm (General Category)
& 145cm (ST Category)
Chest - Minimum 79cm
Eye Sight - 6/6 or 6/9 worst eye
Other physical fitness is also seen after the interview round. In that nose, ear and nasal are also medically checked.

If you wish to be an IPS officer then You have to qualify the UPSC CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION. Now the physical standards required for becoming an IPS officer is provided below-
Minimum Height - Men - 165cm Women - 150cm
Relaxation in minimum height is 160cm (men) and 145cm (women) for candidates belonging to ST. Minimum Chest Girth - Men/Women: 84cm 79cm, Myopia (including cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00D Hypermyopia (including cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00D. The presence of Squint is a disqualification Spectacles are permitted Distant vision for better eye(Corrected Vision) should be 6/6 or 6/9 Distant vision for the worse eye(Uncorrected Vision) should be 6/12 or 6/9 Near vision should be J1 and J2 respectively High grade color vision is required and Binocular vision is needed.
