Hello

The cutoff for admission in medical colleges be it government or private changes every year. The released cutoff is used for admission to medical or dental colleges under 2 types of quota seats: 85% state quota seats and 15% AIQ seats. If you're applying under 85% state quota seats then your NEET score should be minimum 520-30+ (UR category), 440+ (SC/ST) to get admission in a good government college. Whereas for 15% AIQ seats, your NEET score should be minimum 540-80+ (UR category) and 440-70+ (SC/ST). Keep high target and aim on scoring maximum possible to strengthen your chances of getting admission in a good government college.

Good Luck.!

But I have noticed that many students in my locality are eligible to get a govt medical seat scoring 360 or 380. Is it possible???

Dear, the cutoff changes every year depending upon many factors like number of students appearing in the exam, the difficulty level of exam, the number of seats and related such. Compared to previous years, this time there is an increase of 3 lakh in the number of students appearing for NEET. And there is no increase in the number of seats. So the competition is high + tough. That's why keeping high target and  scoring maximum can help you increase your chances of admission in a better college. Hope you're getting my point.!

Thank you ma'am
But some people say that it is enough to read NCERT means CBSE books for NEET. Is it true???
I don't think so. So I prefer SL Arora, GRB, etc for NEET.

Dear Priyadharshini, you haven't mentiones your Category. Neverthless, the cut offs under State Quota for:

General Category: 508:

SC: 420

ST: 281

All India Quota:

General Category: 537

SC: 422

ST: 400

However, cut offs change every year and are dependant on various factors like no.of seats available, no.of candidates appearing for the exam, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. Based on these cut offs and the marks mentioned here, your score should be atleast 50-75 marks more.
