Hi Animesh Naik

As per my observation 580+ marks will be the minimum to get a govt college, that too in the second or third round of counseling. Your target should be about 580+ which will surely get you a seat in a well known college. If you're eligible for 85% state quota counseling, then the minimum marks should be 550–570+ depending upon which state you belong to.

In delhi, you will have to score 550 or 560+, in rajasthan 540+ marks and in other states like west bengal 520+ marks will be needed.

All the Best

Dear Animesh,

There is nothing called passing marks in NEET Exam. In NEET, it is qualifying marks rather which is 50th percentile for general category and 40th percentile for reserved categories. Try to score 550+. Then you'll definitely get a good medical college.
If you want to score good marks in NEET then just follow simple steps -
Clear your basic concepts.
Be thorough with NCERT textbook. Its a must.
Solve previous year question papers.
Take mock tests to assess your progress.
Solve questions from any reference book you prefer for competitive exams
Solve as much as numerical possible.
Use shortcuts to solve to save your time. Formulas to be at your Fingertips.
All the best !

The mininmum marks vary greatly depending on which state you belong to- which further depends on the competition in your state and the no. Of government medical colleges. A score of 530 is good enough if your state has plenty of colleges. But I would suggest that you try for a safe score of 550.

You have to get above 550 to get seat in a government college just to be safe .. but it all depends on the performance of your co stydents who appear for the exam. Solve the previous years question papers to score well. All the best !

Greetings,

It is with utter disappointment that I inform you that it is impossible to determine the cut off marks for a particular state in the examination. Candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination may refer to previous years' cut off marks as a whole for the examination but not for any particular state as such.

There are two ranks provided to each of the candidates appearing for the examination. One is the All India Rank and the other is the Regional or State Rank. Candidates may choose from either of the two in order to test their eligibility for admission to any of the medical colleges spread across the country.

The cut off marks varies from year to year and so only an approximate can be determined from the evaluation of previous years' cut off.

I hope this piece of information proves to be of some help to you.

Dear Animesh,

Anything above 380 will fetch you a seat in mbbs and anything above 350 for a dental seat.

Nikita Chauhan 14th Apr, 2018
If you intend to grab a seat via All India 15 %quota, do not settle for anything less than 570. Rather, try scoring above 570 since the competition at an all India level is pretty high.

However, if you intend to avail a seat via 85% of a state for which you hold a domicile certificate, there might be a slight relaxation in the cut off.

Nonetheless, a score above 570 will keep you in the safe zone.
