Hello,

First of all i would that you should always a high and you must look to score as much as possible to get best colleges possible.Getting NITs is not a tough task if you will study religiously dedicatedly.
For various private college if you can score between 160-180 at least then you will have chances in some good private colleges.

Dear Aspirant,

JEE mainis a national level examination organised by National testing agency twice a year, once in the month of January another in the month of April. it is the exam for admission in allowed 40,000 + seats in engineering College of National Institute of technology Indian Institute of information technology and government funded technical institutes. To get a good college which is not a private but a government college like NIT you have to to score a minimum of 150 marks at least.

Good private colleges are like b i t s Pilani, for admission in that college you have to give a separate entrance exam called BITSAT. Some other good private colleges are like VIT Vellore for that also you have to give a separate address examination of that college.

There are almost no colleges which are private and good in terms of faculties and placement which takes admission through j e e mains exam.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

Hello Sameer

A few good private colleges do accept JEE Main marks. They include :

IIIT Hyderabad : Aim for 260+ if you want CSE. This is possibly the best college through JEE Main .

BIT Mesra: One of the older private colleges. Since the college has caste and home state Reservation, cutoffs are different for various categories. For General Other State student , aim at 200+ to have a safe shot at CSE.

SASTRA : It is considered a good college in South India. Although they do allocate a certain weightage to board marks too. 150+ will land you CSE.

Thapar University : It is a pretty decent college in North India. Although cutoffs have been falling since the last few years overall. Cutoffs are pretty less for Punjab candidates due to 50 Home state Reservation.

For those from outside 145–150 + will fetch you CSE in first rounds. For ECE and Mechanical , aim at 125+.

5. JIIT Noida : Considered a decent college in NCR. Aim for 130+ is a safe score for CS in main campus.
