Respected sir,
While preparing for JEE mains you need to devote your focus towards marks and not the rank as RANKS ARE RELATIVE. Ranks change every year as difficulty level of physics /maths /chemistry changes. Also apart from your marks it also depends on what other people score.
Coming to your question, this year it was between 232–255 for rank between 2000–3000.
so,work hard all the best for your future.
Hi Nidali Jaiswal. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.
As regards to your question, it can be translated to "JEE Mains Mark vs Rank".
Note that every year, there are different scenarios. In the sense that, the highest mark may be 360 and then it may fall down to 340 and so on. So, a factor in deciding the ranks of all other students is that of the topper's marks.
As there is no normalisation of class 12 marks in JEE Mains rank calculation, your rank depends only on your Mains performance.
I would like to direct your attention to this Careers360 article for upto date information on the ranks for 2017:
It is thus adviced to score 200+ if you want to get a rank between 1000 and 2000.
Hope this helps you and all the best!
