HELLO,
The answer might vary as to how you define arts. One way of defining an arts college can be a college which gives a Bachelors in Arts degree at the end of the three/four years. The other way would be to focus on colleges which primarily involve in the education of performing arts, for example designing or dancing.
Let’s start with the entry requirements for BA colleges. Now if it is a government college, admissions would largely be on the basis of percentage. For Delhi University the percentage ranges from around 85% to 98%. For Mumbai University, it might be lesser. On the other hand if you look into private liberal arts universities like FLAME University in Pune or Ashoka University in Sonepat, the admission criteria isn’t limited to a percentage. These types of colleges test your speaking skills, your confidence, your opinions and much more. Therefore, attaching a percentage to such colleges isn’t justified.
On the other hand, we have performing arts colleges. These colleges primarily test you on your interest and skill in the particular art. For example, design colleges usually test you on your portfolio. On the other hand a music college will test you on your music knowledge.
Henceforth, what art college one wants to go to determines what one might require.
