Hello,

Admission in to IITs is based on merit in JEE Advanced. Candidates qualifying JEE Main will be eligible to get admission NITs/IIITs/GFTIs. In 2020 the JEE Main qualifying percentile was as follows

  • General: 90.3765335
  • OBC-NCL: 72.8887969
  • SC:50.1760245
  • ST: 39.0696101
  • EWS:70.2435518
  • PWD: 0.0618524

But in 2021 the qualifying percentile may slightly increase or decrease depending on number of candidates qualified, difficulty of exam and number of seats available etc.

Here is the qualifying marks for JEE Advanced in 2020. The score is minimum overall aggregate marks and individual subject marks respectively

  • General: 69, 6
  • EWS/OBC-NCL: 65, 5
  • SC/ST/All categories PWD: 34, 3
  • Preparatory course: 10, no minimum individual subject score

The qualifying cut off may change depending on number of candidates qualified, difficulty of exam and number of seats available etc. You need to score above cut off marks to have decent chances of getting seat in an IIT. Based on previous year cut off trends your JEE Advanced rank must be within 5000 to have good chances of getting seat in IIT.
