Although, CSE is one of the most sought after branches in India and its seats get filled up much faster than others. So you need to be one of the top scorers in the respective entrance examination.

I have mentioned the cutoff score/ rank required by the general category students for applying in CSE at some of the best engineering colleges in India below:

• Old IITs- The cutoff rank for Mumbai is 50 in JEE Advanced, 100 in Delhi, around 200 in Kanpur, Madras and Kharagpur, 400 in Roorkee and 500 in Guwahati.
• New IITs- The cutoff ranges from 1000 in IIT BHU to around 2000 in Patna to as much as 5000 in Palakkad and Jammu
• IIIT Hyderabad- This place provides one of the best coding cultures in India and competes with the IITs. It requires around 99.92 percentile in JEE Mains for selection in CSE.
• BITS- BITS Pilani requires a score of 375+, Goa needs a score of 345+ and Hyderabad needs a score of around 335 out of 450 in BITSAT for admission in CSE.
• VIT- For admission in VIT, you need to get a rank of around 6000 for Vellore campus and around 12000 for Chennai campus in VITEEE exam for CSE.
