Hi,

Cs is ever green branch and there are numerous opportunities available in both private and public sector.  Students placement soley depends on knowledge and expertise in domains  generally on a average 50 to 60 percent of students get placed . The salary and package for freshers depends on organisation or company.  Generally average package is around 25000 per month initially for graduates

Percentage of placement in computer science department is more than 90. It's depends on college to colleges but if you are in CSE there is placement chances more than other branches and also the package(depends on college to college for some company) is more than other branches package. I think the reason behind it is in india we have good IT sectors and students, foreign companies hire students at low cost and gain more profits, that's why the chances of placement is more in IT sector.
