I am assuming you are from general category. Based on your overall academic profile, you will need to score atleast 99.9 percentile to get a call for the next round. fees is around 21.5 lakhs
All the best!
Qualifying CAT exam will give you an entry to the next level of entering into an IIM. In CAT exams, you are ranked as per your percentile not percentage. Percentile tells you how better you are as compared to the other lot that appeared for the same exam at the same time. You must try to get a 98+ percentile in order to get WAT-PI calls, however mere percentile won't guarantee you WAT-PI calls. Last year has seen a slight change in trend. There have been a number of factors that have been looked upon, academic diversity and job profile being few of them on the basis of which students who didn't get 98+ in general category, have been called for the GD-PI process and finally have been admitted to top notch IIMs too. Also it's important to note here that you need to clear a certain set cutoff for all the three (VA, DI-LR & QM) sections as well as the overall cut offs which can be different for different IIMs, that they shall declare soon on their respective websites. Last year, on an average of all IIMs it was 80,80,80,90 (VA, DI-LR, QM, OVERALL, respectively) for general category, 70,70,70,80 for NC-OBC. These cutoffs are declared on a number of parameters like difficulty level of sections and exam, number of exam takers, etc.
Talking about admission fee, it's simply your CAT registration fee and your academic fee ranges between 10-22lac for two years depending upon which institute you are getting into.
To get admission to an IIM you need to appear for CAT Examination conducted by IIMs. The application fee is Rs 1800 for the examination. You should be a graduate to appear for the test. You need to score a high percentile of around 90-100 percentile as a general category candidate to get an interview call from any IIM. The 2 years course fee at an IIM is Rs 10-20 lakh depending on the institute.
If you score 96+ percentile chances of calls are there from old IIMs depending on your selection criterion. Other part is your chances of your conversion. It depends on various parameters. You need to appear for the WAT and PI process and excel there as well. It also depends on your academics and work experience and there are points for gender and academic diversity. CAT score is about 30-40% of your total score for the final selection. Hence give your best in CAT and then prepare for interviews and ace it. All the best!
