what I have seen in the past few years is that to get a good placement through the university one needs to be in the top 10% of the batch. Firms like Amarchand and Trilegal do come to recruit but it all depends upon your grades to get shortlisted for an interview. However if you are currently pursuing law here I suggest in your penultimate and final year you should intern at a top law firms and try to get a pre placement offer. A lot of my seniors with an average grade got PPOs from top firms due to their hard work and good networking, with associates and partners, in internships.
