what is the potential energy in a body of mass 10kg kept on the top of a pole 20 metres height
Hello,
Potential energy is the energy that is stored in an object due to its position relative to some zero position. The potential energy is equal to the mass*height*acceleration due to gravity which is MGH.
So if the mass is 10 Kilo gram and the height is 20 meters with assuming acceleration due to gravity as 10 meter/second. The potential energy is 10*20*10 which is equal to 2000J.
Dear aspirant hope you are doing well.
We know the formula of potential energy is mass multiple acceleration due to gravity multiple hight
E= m*g*h= 10*10*20= 2000 joules.
E - potential energy
m - mass - 10kg
g - acceleration due to gravity. - 10 m/s^2
h - height - 10metres
