what is the procedure for engineering admissions?
Hey , First of all you didn't mention that you want to take admission in govt engineering colleges or private engineering colleges . For both you have to clear there respective entrance examinations. For IITs ,NITs you have to qualify Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) which held twicw a year. For state Govt colleges you have to clear respective state's engineering entrance examinations . Now , for private institutes either they conduct there own entrance examinations or they take admission via JEE or state entrance examinations. After you qualified the examination you have to go through the counseling . In counseling you have to select your stream and college according to your marks obtained. This is the seat allotment process , after which you can admission in the allotted seat.
First of all engineering is a good preference if you taking. Now coming to your query then some steps are there to get admission in various colleges. In most of the colleges the admission is not direct, you need to give the specified entrance exam of either state level or all India level like JEE. So if you qualify that exam so based on your merit rank which is made by your 12th marks+entrance exam marks then seat allotement/counselling is done. Through which you will get the college and then you have to complete the document verification and admission procedure of that college. Hope you find it useful.
Thank you.
For engineering admission you have to appear for JEE examination for IITs and for private colleges you can take admission on your 12th marks basics and some private colleges take their own entrance exam.
You have to passed from these few steps.
I must mention IITs are more difficult to take admission.
All the best.
Thanks for asking your query
Different engineering entrance have different admission process but some procedure are common in every one .
After qualifying entrance students have to register themselves for the counseling and give the preferences of the Branch and Institute in which they want admission.
As soon as counselling results are out and students who are allotted seats are asked to pay the admission fee by visiting the institute they've been allotted.
Usually there are 3-4 counselling rounds and a spot round in which counselling is based on physical appearance of the students at the institute in which they want admission. Spot round may also be an online round in which the University/Institute asks the students to pay the fee in advance and if they're not allotted any seat, then 100% fee will be refunded(Not the counselling fee but admission fee) and if you're allotted seat then you can't withdraw yourself.(You should read the instructions carefully before applying for the counselling.
Hope this will help you
You need to get registered yourself in the counseling boards after getting results. In JOSAA after the results of JEE you have registered yourself there and set your priorities of branch and college in the list.
