M.Com.or Master of Commerce is a postgraduate academic degree which is awarded after successful completion of a two years program. The Master degree course covers the study of principles of accounting, economic theory, micro and macroeconomics, money and banking systems, knowledge about business, trade and its characteristics and policies involved, etc. In the final year, the students opt for specialized study in any one fields of Commerce such as Statistics, Taxation, Marketing, Accounting & Finance, Banking, Insurance, etc. Simply, M.Com. is a postgraduate degree program that focuses on the systematic study of the concepts of Accountancy, Business Studies, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Banking, Law, Taxation, Marketing, Management Studies, etc. Therefore, study of M.Com. Degree gives an insight of commerce, management and economics.
Master of Commerce Eligibility
The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing M.Com. Degree is having graduation degree in Commerce stream.
However, as an alternative criterion, many universities accept graduation degree with Honours in Economics or Business/Management Studies for admission to their M.Com. degree course.
Some of the very reputed universities and institutes demand a minimum of 45-50% marks in graduation as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this course and some also conduct entrance examination to get admission to their M.Com. Degree course. Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of graduation and the entrance exam

There are set of procedures to be followed to do Post Graduation in commerce. Select which category you fall under and then proceed further.
Eligibility Criteria-
Category A-
Direct admission-The Candidates seeking admission under this category are required to fulfill the following eligibility. Based on the merit in the under-graduate degree, separate merit lists will be prepared for the general as well as reserved categories of the students.
Note:The final merit list, for admission under this Category shall be determined by normalizing the marks of eligible B.Com (Pass) candidates by deducting 5% and making the merit list on the basis of combined merit of Hons. And Pass after such deduction.
Category B -
Through Entrance test-The candidates are selected on the basis of entrance test conducted by the department. The candidates are also required to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.
Notes:
1. The eligibility conditions for admission to M. Com. course are same for the regular and the correspondence (SOL) students.
2. Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination may also apply provided they are able to produce their mark sheets.

The minimum eligibility criteria required for MCom. course is having a Bachelor degree in Commerce with a minimum of 50% marks.The admission is generally done through a common entrance test conducted by various universities accordingly. Certain universities also offer merit-based direct admission.
