Hello Chinnu dhanya,

To get into a Medical College in Tamil Nadu if you are student from Kerala you will have to clear the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test, which will be conducted soon.

Get a score of atleast 500 to get into a government medical college through the All India Quota especially if you belong to the general category.

Hello

To study medicine- MBBS, you have to appear in the medical entrance exam. There are three medical entrance exams in India - NEET, AIIMS and JIPMER.

All three are the National level exams for medical entrance and are conducted once a year.

AIIMS and JIPMER have separate exams for medical entrance

NEET- The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is an entrance exam in India who wish to study medical and dental course in government or private colleges.

NEET Eligibility- 10+2 passed with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

About the exam

  • Held once in a year
  • Pen and paper mode
  • Subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology)
  • Exam Duration- 3 hours
  • Total Questions and marks-
180 questions--- 45 questions in Physics, 45 in Chemistry and 90 questions in Biology.

  • Each question carries 4 marks. Therefore, 180 (questions) * 4 (marks each question) = 720 marks.
  • For each right answer 4 marks
  • For each wrong answer -1 mark
  • 0 mark for not attempting the question
This is the basic information regarding the entrance exam- NEET.

For Admission in MBBS field, you have to pass and qualify this entrance exam with maximum marks possible if your want admission in a government college. The cutoffs are released after the exam-  based on which the merit list of each college stands for the take-in. However, the cutoffs change every year which depends on the number of candidates appearing in the exam, the difficulty level of the paper and related.

You need to keep high target and score minimum 500-550+ marks to secure your seat in a desired College.

Quotas and seats-

State quota - 85% seats

All India Quota- 15% seats

To study MBBS in Tamil Nadu, you have to apply for 15% AIQ seats. However, for admission in a government college in Tamil Nadu, your score should be minimum 560+ so that atleast you can score near to it or even more which will surely benefit you for admission. Hope you're getting my point.!

Refer NCERT for all the 3 subjects. Be thorough with the syllabus. Study the important topics/chapters first having high weight age and from which maximum questions are asked every year. Make notes and practice MCQs accordingly- on the same day of studying any particular chapter/topic.

The more you'll practice, the more confidence you'll gain and will solve the question correctly that too in less time.

So, prepare well and study smart.!

Hope this information is helpful to you.!

All the Bestt.!!

Hi,

The admission in all the medical colleges now is through NEET. So you need to appear in NEET and clear it.

Now the seats in any state are divided into - 85% seats reserved for the state candidates and 15% all India quota. As you do not belong to Tamil Nadu, you will be treated as a candidate through 15% all India quota and would be admitted through the same.

You can get further information regarding on the link given below -
