Dear Joshi, you can rectify the errors in your NEET application when the correction window opens from January 14th to January 31st, 2019. Now there are few details that NTA might identify and few that NTA wouldn't know about you. NTA is the National Testing Authority who is the NEET conducting body. For example, NTA can identify if the photograph signed doesn't fit the requirements or scanned thumb impression or signature have been wrongly uploaded. For such details, you will be notified by NTA through an Email or a Text message at your Registered Email and Phone number. Now NTA will not know if you belong General Category or ST/SC/OBC or NTA cannot determine your Gender by your name. For Example, Satya can be used by both genders. So if by mistake you being a male candidate select Female as your Gender, there are no chances that NTA will identify that for you and notify you to correct them. It is up to you to identify them and correct the mistakes in your application form. And let us also understand the importance of correcting the errors in the application form. For example, if you belong to OBC-NCL but chose General Category, you tend to lose the reservation available for your category and might end up losing a seat. Or vice-versa, if you belong to General Category but chose OBC and did not correct it during the Correction window, you might get a rank and be called for Counseling. At the time of counseling because you cannot prove that you are from OBC category as you don't have the required documents, your seat might stand cancelled and you might be booked under malpractice. To avoid any such circumstances, it is important to correct any such errors that you might have filled in the NEET application form. And please remember that you can only use the correction window once and you should correct all the details and then click on the "Submit" button.
