What is the process for foreign stufents to get admission into BHU under scholarship or self finance schemes?

Hello Yojana Karki,

The BHU offical site says that :

Foreign National  Shall mean the citizen of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as defined under PIO.

1. For General Courses


Applications of Foreign Nationals nominated by the Govt. of India under Scholarship scheme and Self-financing foreign nationals shall be entertained for the various non-professional as well as professional courses.

The foreign students shall not be subjected to any kind of entrance examination provided they ahve passed an equivalent examination from a recognised university outside India.

There is a reservation to the extent of 5% that is provoded in each course by the University in accordance to the number of seats that are available in every department of the university and the students shall be qualified only if they complete the minimum eligibility criteria -

(1) That the applications of scholarship holding Foreign Nationals (under various schemes) are routed through Indian Council for Cultural Relations/Ministry of Human Resource & Development (Deptt. of Education), Govt. of India, New Delhi.

(2) That applications for Ph.D. Programme and Professional courses are routed through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Deptt. of Education), Govt. of India, New Delhi.

(3) That the application of self-financing candidates for non-professional courses, along with bio-data and academic qualifications have to be submitted through concerned Indian diplomatic mission abroad or the diplomatic mission of the country of the applicant in India for admission in the desired course.

(4 )That the candidates have valid Residential permit/Student Visa for the prescribed time of the concerned courses, and their previous deeds ( antecedents)  have been verified by the Agencies/Ministry and found in order.

(5) That the candidates have to  submit certificate duly verified by the Ministry/Agencies to the effect of having been subjected to AIDS test and found negative.

(6) That they have adequate knowledge of English and/or Hindi as per requirements of the course.
