DU admission to various UG, PG and doctorate programmes is both merit and entrance-based. Admission to merit-based courses such as BA, BA (Honors), BSc, BSc (Honors), BCom, BCom (Hons) and entrance-based courses such as BTech, BBA, BBM, B.El.Ed, etc., commence in the month of May every year.
- Final admission to merit-based UG programmes will depend on the cut-off score released by the college and candidate's score in the last qualifying examination
- For programmes such as BTech, BMS, BBA-FIA, etc., candidates must appear for the entrance exam conducted by DU
- Varsity conducts Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) and Delhi University Joint Admission Test (DU-JAT) to shortlist aspirants for admission to selective UG courses
- Seats for SC/ST/OBC categories are reserved for all the UG courses as per the directive of Delhi University and Government of India (SC- 15%; ST- 7.5%; OBC- 27%)
DU JAT or Delhi University Joint Admission Test is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) and BA (Hons) in Business Economics programmes offered by 16 colleges affiliated to Delhi University.
