Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc).

After completing your Diploma in Veterinary Science, you can pursue a BVSc & AH (Bachelor's in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry) degree.

Because you have previously earned your Diploma, it would be a four-year course for you. Exotic animal care, illness detection, nutrition, and animal husbandry are all part of the B.V.Sc. and AH curriculum.

Bachelor of Veterinary Science, is an undergraduate course of 5 years in the field of veterinary science that aims to impart the knowledge required for nourishment, treatment, and breeding of animals.

There are 47 BVSC colleges in India which include Indian Veterinary Research Institute, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, CSKHPKV, etc.

Eligibility criteria
The minimum Eligibility Criteria for admission in BVSc:

  • The candidate needs to have completed 12th standard with physics, chemistry, biology the makers navigate and English as a compulsory subject.
  • The minimum age for admission in BVSc is 18 years. However, the maximum age limit goes up to 25 years.
  • Relaxation of one year is provided for reserved category candidates in terms of age. And the relaxation of 5% in terms of marks is provided for scheduled caste and scheduled Tribes and other reserved category candidates.
BVSc Entrance Examinations
The All India Pre Veterinary test (AIPVT) was considered for admission to bachelors for Veterinary Sciences. However, since 2017, NEET scores are considered for admission to BVSc.

And you can opt for BVSc & AH (Bachelor's in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry) course after you complete your Diploma in Veterinary Science.It would be a four years course for you as you have already completed your Diploma. B.V.Sc. and AH syllabus includes training in exotic animal care, disease identification, nutrition and animal husbandry.
