Fashion Designing is a specialization of humanities that covers the wide spectrum of fabrics, styles, patterns, colors and trends that define the fashion of a particular era. It is not just limited to clothes and trends but also includes the area of accessories, handbags and footwear. The combined study of all these aspects come under a fashion technology course.
There are different types of fashion designing degrees available in India which have different eligibility criteria, which are as follows:
UG Courses:
Students seeking admission in Fashion Designing courses at UG level must have passed their class 12th examination with not less than 50 per cent from a recognized board in India.
They may have to appear for entrance exams like NID DAT, UCEED and NIFT Entrance exam.
PG Courses:
Students applying for PG courses in Fashion Designing must have passed bachelor’s program in a related field with not less than 50 per cent from a recognized college/ university in India.
They may have to appear for entrance exams like IIAD, CEED, NID DAT and many others.
Diploma Courses:
For admission in Diploma courses, students must have completed 10+2 level from a recognized board in India with not less than 40 - 50 per cent.
