To become a police officer you need to write and clear the Civil Service (CSE)exam conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) with high marks. This exam is conducted for the recruitment of various services like IAS, IPS , IFS, IRSetc.
For IPS Candidates should have age group from 21-32 and you need to be graduate to appear in the CSE exam for any degree ,so for CBI the candidates should be from 20-27 age along with any degree.
The initial salary for IPS is 56,000 to maximum of 2,25,000.
For IPS You would receive rent free accommodation , an official vehicle, driver and security guards.
For CBI,
Pay scale = 9300- 34800
Grade = 4200
Initial=9300
Total pay = Pay scale + Grade =13500
CBI career path from Sub inspector to ;
- Inspector
- Deputy Superintendent
- Additional Superintendent
- Superintendent
- Senior Superintendent
In CBI you would receive these parameters
- DA on Total Pay above (around 107 %)
- Transport Allowance
- House Rent Allowance(if not provided with quarters)
- Petrol allowance
- Limited bill for mobile
- 25 % extra on normal DA and Basic Pay
- one month salary extra/yea
The starting pay of an IPS is around 56000/month. It increases with tenure and promotion.
