Hi.

You need mention the name of the NIT, whose Chemical Engineering branch you are interested in. Every college, NIT is different and have a separate curriculum for its branches and different placement drives, so one branch cannot be compared to other in all of the colleges. However, you have tagged Mahatma Gandhi Mission's Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College and according to the placements statistics for 2019-20 only 1 student of chemical engineering was placed.

SCOPE of Chemical Engineering:

After completing B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, candidates tend to get a job in sectors like the oil & gas industry, fertilizer industry, power, and energy industry, air conditioning industry, etc. Candidates get to work as Process Engineer, Production Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, etc. The average salary is from INR 3 lacs to 6 lacs per annum after completing B.Tech.

Currently, the Indian industrial sector is on its way of expansion, creating more and more opportunities for chemical engineering students in areas of production, designing, research, and development. The recent trend shows that the industry is expected to evolve and grow phenomenally in the years to come. As a result, there will be a surge in demand for chemical engineers in emerging industrial sectors in years ahead.
