Ramsha, to be honest, a Diploma in Physiotherapy cannot give you the exposure, knowledge and salary that a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy gives. If you look at the subjects, it teaches Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Psychology, Medical and Surgical Conditions, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation. But a Bachelor's in Physiotherapy is a 4 year course and 6 month Internship which gives you the required knowledge and exposure in treating a patient effectively.
Having said that, a Diploma in Physiotherapy is a 3 year course. And after completing the course, you can join as an Assistant to a Physiotherapist who may pay you between 5k-10k based on your experience and the size of hosiptal you work with. Now with experience, you can get an increased salary. You may slowly move up the ladder as you put on experience. But when a Government position opens up for the post of a Physiotherapist, Candidates with BPT will be given priority over DPT candidates. And BPT is a 4 year course and 6 month mandatory internship. It is just 18 months more than the DPT course. So please consider these facts and take a call.
