GATE score is calculated out of 1000.1000 is set as reference and marks you obtained out of 100marks is converted into 1000.Generally cuttoff of PSUs and IITs are in rank and score.Cuttoff score for PSUs and IITs is different for different stream.You haven't mentioned your interested stream.It is tough to mention cuttoff score of each PSUs and IITs for each stream.In core stream 900+ score is considered for PSUs and 750+ for IITs for students belonging to General category.

A good GATE score helps you to take admission for your post graduate degree in IITs, NITs and other CFTIs as well. It also helps you to get shortlisted for the PSU job recruitment.
A good GATE score depends on whether you want to be eligible for PSUs or if you wish to take admission in some college. Hence it is dependent on the number of applicants for that particular college or job.
A GATE rank of about 200 can help you get into IITs or IISc. GATE score between 350 to 800 will help you ensure a seat in the NITs. For PSUs, the cutoff differs with companies and number of vacancies. If you are above the cutoff, you will be shortlisted for further process, mostly interviews.
