If you're getting hostel allotment consider yourself lucky because only the number of students are increasing but the accomodation facilities are same. You might have heard of the protest in mck. Hostel facilities in medical colleges of Kolkata are in very bad shape.

As per my knowledge, hostle facilities are good but not upto the mark. There's a crisis of hostle accomodation, specially for first year students. The hospital authority has taken initiative and new buildings are being built. They may open, as and when they get completed.
